How to become a CA after 12th

 Common Proficiency Test (CPT)

Register with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and take the CPT exam after 12th

Accounting Technician Course (ATC)

A candidate is eligible for enrollment to ATC on passing the Common Proficiency Test and 12th

Four subjects

For CPT there are four subjects which you have to test for : Accounts, Law, Economics and Quantitative Analysis.

Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC)

In order to register for the IPCC, the candidate should pass both CPT and 12th class.

Clearing IPCC

The IPCC exam is scored out of 700, and you have to get an overall score of 50% or above to pass

Group 1

IPCC has 2 groups of subjects, group 1 consists of Accounts, Law, Taxation and Costing & FM

Group 2

IPCC group 2 has three papers which are Audit,  IT&SM and Advanced Accountancy.

Exemption 

If repeating a group, you only need to repeat those subjects in which you scored below 60 

Articleship

Article-ship is a 3-year long internship with a qualified CA which you have to complete after IPCC along with the Final CA exam. 

CA Final

A candidate can appear for the final CA examination during the last 6 months of articled training.
