American College Testing, is an entrance exam for colleges in English-speaking countries and outside of the USA, the ACT is administered by computer.

The ACT

1. Reading 2. Mathematics 3. English 4. Science and 5. Writing paper (optional)

ACT subject sections

Assessed on a scale of 0-36.

ACT score range

- Without writing section: 2 hours 55    minutes - With the writing section:  2 hours 55    minutes + 40 minutes

ACT Exam Duration

Within 2-8 weeks of completing the exam, candidates will get their ACT scores.

There are 215 questions in all.

Number of Questions

There is no upper age limit for taking the ACT. Candidates under the age of 13 will not be permitted to register for the exam.

Age criteria

MCQs follow multiple essays in the ACT's English component. Questions on usage/mechanics, sentence building, and rhetorical ability appear also.

Syllabus

Data Representation, Conflicting Viewpoints, and Research Summary are the three basic passage types on the ACT science test.

Passage types

There are four portions in the ACT reading test, three of which have substantial writing and the fourth of which has two brief paragraphs.

Reading test

Pre-algebra, Elementary Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, Plane geometry, Coordinate geometry, Elementary trigonometry are among the ACT maths topics.

Maths content

The writing portion of the ACT exam consists of an essay prompt that must be completed in 40 minutes which has 3 POVs on a contentious topic.

Time management

The ACT exam costs $63 (INR 4,835.25) without writing and $88 (INR 6,754) with writing.
