The University of Notre Dame SAT policy is test-optional till 2023. If you don’t think standardized test scores accurately reflect your academic abilities, you need not include them in your application.

There is no official University of Notre Dame SAT cutoff stated by the university, however by looking at the average SAT scores of accepted applicants we can get an idea of what they are looking for.

University of Notre Dame ACT Requirements 

Just like the University of Notre Dame SAT policy, ACT scores are also not required by Notre Dame, however you can include them if you wish to. 

The range of ACT scores of the middle 50% of students accepted to Notre Dame in 2021 was 33-35. Therefore an ACT score of 33 would put you well above average in terms of Notre Dame applicants while a score of 35 would be below average and need to be compensated by other parts of your application.

Notre Dame offers two application plans: Restrictive Early Action (REA) and Regular Decision. The REA plan is not binding. You may apply to other colleges, but you may not apply to their early decision programs. You can apply to other non-binding early action programs at other colleges. All applicants have until May 1 to confirm their enrollment at Notre Dame, if accepted.

University of Notre Dame English Proficiency Testing Requirements

University of Notre Dame applicants whose native language is not English must submit an English language proficiency test score. 

The language tests accepted by Notre Dame are TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, and the Duolingo English test. 

Notre Dame will waive the English proficiency exam requirement if:

An applicant scores 650 or above on the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section of the SAT and/or an applicant scores 26 or above on the English or Reading sections of the ACT.
