UCLA Requirements for Application Fee

All students who wish to apply at UCLA are required to pay an application fee. For citizens of the U.S, the application fee is $70. However, UCLA requirements for the application fee for international students amount to $80 which includes Indian applicants. 

UCLA SAT Scores Requirements for Academic Records

Your UCLA SAT scores and GPA surely reflect your academic excellence but it does not portray the full picture of your progress as a student in high school. Your high school transcripts are an important part of UCLA requirements for admission. It is only after you are granted admission at UCLA that you are required to submit your transcripts. 

Letter of Recommendation

A letter of recommendation is a document submitted by your high school teacher from a core subject area stating your performance and characteristics as a student. It helps the admissions officer to evaluate your profile as a student from a teacher’s perspective and whether you will be a good fit for the university’s community and culture. 

Most universities including some Ivy League colleges require a letter of recommendation as a mandatory requirement for admission. But UCLA does not require a letter of recommendation from you as part of your application process.

According to UCLA’s Application Guide, “Letters of recommendation and interviews are not accepted at UCLA SAT Scores. “

Does UCLA Provide Scholarships to Students?

UCLA has provision to offer scholarships to students who reside in the U.S. However, the university does not provide scholarships to international students for admission. So, as an international applicant, you are required to submit proof of finance stating that you have the funds to cover your tuition fees, living costs and other expenses for studying at UCLA

The total cost of studying at UCLA, including tuition fees, food, study materials and other expenses for international students, amounted to more than $66,000 a year for the class of  2021. 

You might question that this figure must be an average cost for all UCLA students. But guess what? The total admission fee at UCLA does not differ from one course to another. The total cost for all undergraduate programs at UCLA remains the same

UCLA Requirements for Language Proficiency

If you are taking or have taken one of these language tests then you are required to self-report your language test scores in your application. Once you are granted admission, you can send your scores directly to the university for TOEFL and IELTS. For the Duolingo English Test, you have to send your scores directly from the DET site by choosing UCLA as an option among other universities. 

Extracurricular Performance Requirements at UCLA
